motoro stingay
I have recently got a motoro stingray, which is very entertaining to watch, it eats fresh/ frozen foods and worms. As well I also picked up a fahaka puffer, which is one of the largest freshwater puffers there is! Also likes generally the same foods and also crustaceans and snails, a very curious neat fish! :)

Steve Irwin
I wanted to say something about the unfortunate death of a great entertainer. Steven Irwin, a.k.a. "The Crocodile Hunter" was killed by a stingray just a few days ago. This everyone should know by now. How it is relevant to this site? He loved animals and I love fish, and I loved watching him from time to time. Not to mention he got killed by a stingray. That is very unusual, from what I have heard only 18 people have been killed by stingrays in the last 30 years! I dont know if this will adversly affect visitors to this site but if you have anything to say for Steve feel free. It is amazing how much this story has been taken upon by the media!

New Lighting
I got some new daytime bulbs for my aquarium when I realised that the bulbs I had in my fixtures when I purchased the aquarium were regular household bulbs, I picked up some aqua glo 18,000 K bulbs because I had a coupon for petsmart. They ran me about 40 bucks but man did they do wonders for softening the lighting and making the fishes coloring pop right out. As well my birthday was last friday and I picked up a couple of R2 moonlight systems for the night time. It appears the fish like it and as well it looks awesome. I have also noticed in the morning when I turn my other light on that my flowerhorns coloring is a lot more bright in the morning after having used the moonlighting overnight vs. them having been in complete darkness all night! Well thats my .02 for now! I highly recommend the R2's.

I made a top 10 camsites list!
I've managed to somehow get nominated for earthcams top 10 list! Check out the link here http://www.earthcam.com/topten.php

Pretty sweet in my opinion! Anywho I'm doing an experiment with a few flowerhorns, there are a couple in the cam tank as well I have one in a 10 gallon in my room, main difference is the gravel the big tank obviously has darker gravel the little tank has some red and orange gravel with a bit of the darker mixed in, and so far it appears the little'r tanks flowerhorn is turnging out to look like he is going to be a lot more bright and colorfull fish! Both have same diet. Anyways I'll keep everyone posted!
